Switzer R1KX Nissan GT-R Red Katana Runs 8’s
A quick update here from Switzer tuning, the Nissan GT-R R1KX “Red Katana” has just ran its best quarter mile in 8.97 seconds at 163 miles per hour. They tested the car at Norwalk, Ohio’s Summit Motorsports Park and this is an unbelievable record for a car that can still be a daily driver. Switzer has proved that the godzilla Nissan GTR is one of the most impressive vehicles of the 21st century.
Switzer Performance Nissan GTR P600 PKG
A few new goodies have been released by Switzer Performance for their Nissan GTR line of tuning kits. This one is specifically called the P600 PKG, and offers a minor boost from the factory 545 HP to now 600 horsepower. The increase comes from new high flow air filters, a SS90 high performance exhaust and ECU software tuning. Even though this power increase is modest, the Nissan GTR still benefits from the kit with a 0 to 62 mph acceleration time of only 2.6 seconds.
Switzer Ultimate Street Edition Nissan GT-R
The all new Ultimate Street Edition for the Nissan GT-R has been released by Switzer Performance. This package is for the daily driver who wants the power when needed, but still have the smooth feel of a stock GTR. They have tuning programs for the R35 GT-R consisting of 700, 800, 900 and even 1,200 horsepower packages like the R1KX. However, this Ultimate Street Edition offers the best of both worlds. It has 1,000+ horses, yet won’t overheat in traffic, require frequent maintenance, nor need special race gas to run smoothly.
Nissan GTR Nismo GT3 Race Car
It is finally here, the Nisan GTR Nismo GT3 race car that was put together by JR Motorsports. It has been under construction since 2011 and has gone through numerous tests to reach perfection. The Nismo GTR is powered by the factory 3.8-liter twin turbo, however the V6 delivering 530 PS will only go to one drive axle instead of the stock AWD. This will make the Nissan sports car much faster for racing conditions, while the aerodynamics will help the handling as well. While this isn’t the fastest Nissan GTR ever built, it is one of the most appealing in terms of styling.
Nicholas TJ.R Amazing Gallery of Nissan GT-R Photos
Professional photographer Nicholas TJ.R has captured some stunning images of the new Nissan GT-R over the past few years, and this picture above is straight up amazing. The Nissan GT-R you see here features a Wald International Black Bison body kit, consisting of a carbon fiber hood, side skirts, rear fender arches, and a new front bumper with carbon fiber throughout. At the rear is a new Esprit dry carbon fiber wing along with a carbon diffuser underneath. Wald P13F alloy wheels measuring 22-inches are found with their car tuning packages, while they come wrapped in Yokohama Advan tires.
AMS Nissan GT-R New Record Track Time
We now have the true Godzilla in town, the AMS tuned Nissan GT-R has set the standard for all GTR owners with a record quarter mile time of just 9.052 seconds at 166.7 mph. Called the ALPHA 12, this insane car produces an amazing 1,309 horsepower with 994 lb-ft of torque to the all wheel drive Nissan GTR R35. The AMS Performance tuning company still plans to improve the ALPHA 12 GTR track times when the weather and track conditions improve. This was set in 90 degree heat, which we all know takes a toll on performance when it gets that hot outside. Pricing for the ALPHA 12 is not yet available, however we do know that the ALPHA 10 kit for the Nissan GT-R boosts the ouput to 1,000 HP on 93 octane, and costs $63,995. Prepare yourself to be blown away with the video after the jump.
AMS Nissan GT-R Alpha 9
The tuners from AMS Performance have put together the ultimate package so far for the Nissan GT-R called the Alpha 9. Coming close to many of the Bugatti Veyron’s world records, the new GT-R kit catapults the stock 530 horsepower to an amazing 800 crank hp with a few major upgrades. These include new billet wheel ball bearing turbos, new turbo inlet pipes, a larger front mount intercooler, 90 mm exhaust system, custom calibrated MAF sensors, and new ECU tuning to keep everything running smooth. The Nissan GT-R is now able to run the 1/4 mile in 9.95 seconds seconds at 141 mph, which set a new pump gas R35 GTR quarter mile record. Pricing for this package starts at $21,999 USD, however we are sure they will continue to improve it to eventually push close to 1,000 horsepower, and beat all the current Bugatti records at a fraction of the cost.
Switzer 900hp Ethanol Nissan GT-R P900
The Ohio based tuning company Switzer Performance has topped their previous records with the Nissan GT-R P900. This modified Nissan GT-R now produces 900hp with an all new transmission to handle the power. Switzer previously released the Nissan GT-R P700 package that boasted around 800 horses, with 700 crank horsepower, but that wasn’t enough. Tim Switzer started off by making this custom Nissan run on E85 ethanol, but to handle these numbers, a new transmission was needed. Transmission failure was the biggest concern of this project, so the tuners hired Dodson Motorsports in New Zealand to develop the stronger transmission. After several months of development between Switzer and Dodson, they received a product that would allow them to push more than 800hp.
Cobb Tuning Nissan GT-R E85
Going green, or eco friendly with cars isn’t all that bad with your working with Cobb Tuning, who have modified this Nissan GT-R to run on E85 ethanol gas. Ethanol, or some would say corn oil, is a blend of 85% ethanol and 15% gasoline which was originally developed as a bio-fuel or flex fuel. However, E85 has become an alternative fuel choice for car tuning enthusiasts seeking large performance gains from a relatively inexpensive modification. This new ethanol E85 mix carries a 105 octane rating, and we all know what that means, more octane more power. Cobb Tuning has done just that with this new Nissan GT-R, to see how much extra power they could pull on the dyno.
Tommy Kaira Nissan GT-R Official
Previously Tommy Kaira announced their initial renderings of the new aero kit for the highly sought after Nissan GT-R. Now we have the official pictures of the body kit set to display at the Tokyo Auto Salon. The new kit is called ‘Wet Carbon’ from Tommy Kaira, and features several new body pieces. A new front bumper with lip spoiler, side skirts, air ducts all around, rear bumper, trunk spoiler, rear racing diffuser, and fender flares for the rear give the Nissan GT-R a fantastic look. Surely this will become one of the most popular body kits for the GTR, and many will try to duplicate the quality work by Tommy Kaira.
