Wimmer RS has released this new Porsche 997 GT2 RS package for the 500 owners who are looking to reach the next level of performance. They have taken the 3.6-liter six cylinder engine and hooked it up with optimized turbochargers, ECU reprogramming, new camshafts, crankshaft, timing chains, pistons, connecting rods, a new fuel pump and 200-cell sport catalysts. With these extensive upgrades, the flat-six now develops around 1,006 horsepower and 1,108 Nm of torque.

Even with all these performance upgrades, the 0 to 100 km/h time stayed the same as the stock Porsche 997 at 3.4 seconds, however the 200 km/h time was quicker at 8.7 seconds while it reached 300 km/h in just 15.5 seconds. It previously took 28.9 seconds to reach 300 km/h, so the top end speed received the greatest benefit from this tune. Also, the modified Porsche can now hit a top speed of 389 km/h, while it was only capable of 330 km/h before landing in the hands of Wimmer RS.

Final customizations to the exterior of the sports car are a new set of 19-inch alloy rims wrapped in high performance tires, a KW adjustable suspension kit and the baby blue foil wrap with checkered decoration around the Wimmer RS logo. Stay tuned for more Porsche 997 GT2 RS kits from other tuning companies, as these are some of the most popular cars for racing worldwide.
