Steven Tyler Receives First Hennessey Venom GT

|

Updated on

Steven Tyler, Aerosmith frontman for the chart topping rock bank has received the first completed Hennessey Venom GT. Based on the Lotus Exige, Steve asked the Hennessey tuning company if they could make it a roadster with the removable top. They customized the roll cage so that it would work, however this came with the addition of 30 lbs. Staying true to their one horsepower per one kilogram power to weight ratio, Steve got his Venom GT with a little extra juice.

The completed car now holds 1,244 bhp, a slight boost from the previously announced 1,200 hp that most of the other buyers will receive. This is obtained from the 6.2-liter V8 twin turbo powerplant and six-speed manual transmission. At the track, the super sports car is able to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.5 seconds, yet reach an amazing 200 mph in only 15.3 seconds.

Hennessey Performance has announced plans to build 5 of these supercars for the 2013 model year, and they come priced at a hefty $950,000. For a million bucks, they better hold their value better than a typical exotic or luxury vehicle, and we’d bet so because they are going to be extremely rare. The custom Spyder version of the Hennessey Venom GT will go for even more with a $1.1 million dollar price tag.
