Swiss tuning specialists Sportec have released the details of an aftermarket program for the 2013 BMW X6. While this car is gaining popularity worldwide, the inline six cylinder 3.0-liter diesel engine could always use a boost. Sportec remapped the ECU, installed a new air filter and were able to increase the power output to 370 HP and 553 lb-ft of torque with these light modifications.

At the track, the gains were proven with a 0 to 62 mph acceleration time of 5.4 seconds, which is 1.1 seconds faster than a stock BMW X6 diesel. The sporty SUV can now reach 164 mph when the previous top speed was only 130 mph. A Steptronic automatic transmission with custom gear ratios allow this to happen, and Sportec decided to add some styling to go along with the new found power.

A new set of 20-inch OZ lightweight alloy rims wrapped in high performance tires round out the package. They reduce the weight by 88 pounds while a new sport exhaust system gives the BMW X6 a deeper sound.
