World’s Fastest Dodge Challenger

Updated on

Rarely do you get to see a street legal car run a single digit quarter mile time, but here is currently the world’s fastest Dodge Challenger. Built by the guys at MR NORMS GARAGE, the world famous tuners pushed the limits with this Challenger project. It was put together on the 2009 SRT8 Dodge Challenger platform, and this race car features too many upgrades to even list, but I’ll give you the run down of the basic improvements. From the factory the Challenger holds the 6.1-liter HEMI V8 engine, which received a ton of modifications to reach the numbers it now produces.

Under the hood you will find a 2.8H Kennel Bell twin screw supercharger, custom heads, and cams all providing 1,100 horsepower to the Dana rear end. Mr. Norms Garage hooked it up with mini tubes to accept 13-inch racing slicks, and then received help from MPH and R&D for the tuning of the modified powerplant. The debut run of the Dodge Challenger ran the quarter mile in 10.34 seconds at 138 mph, so the guys knew it had the potential to be a single digit track star.

The next run was at the 2009 Mopar Nationals where the Challenger accomplished a 9.705 quarter mile track time at 140.58 mph. After some final tweaks and tuning, the guys set the record for both the LX platform (Charger, Magnum, 300C), and LC platform (new Challenger) with a 9.57 1/4 mile at 143.46 mph. But don’t let the parachute mistaken you, because this Dodge Challenger is still street legal. Check out the video below of the world’s fastest Dodge Challenger.
