Unichip Subaru Impreza

Updated on

For those who are not satisfied with the performance numbers of their 4WD Subaru Impreza 2.0 Diesel, the Unichip tuners have released an upgrade that is surprisingly not for the Subaru STi model. Using the latest plug and play technology, the U-Connect piggy back ECU tuning software enables subtle electronic tweaks. Enhancing the Impreza’s fuel and boost output, the performance gains are quite significant. After being tested on the dyno, the new electronics added 17 bhp and 36 lb ft of torque over the stock Subaru Impreza model.

Final performance figures show 168 bhp with 292 lb ft of torque delivered to the notorious Subaru all-wheel-drive system. Which is more like “all we’ll drive” if you ask any Subaru owner. Thanks to its easy-fit design, the new piggy back system can me mounted or removed from the ECU in very little time. At the same time, the unit is electronically invisible to main Subaru dealers, so you won’t have to worry about voiding your warranty. However, all remapping can only be done by a Unichip agent. Check out the charts from Unichip on how much of a boost the Subaru Impreza 2.0 Diesel received. Now we’re just waiting for them to release a ECU tuning upgrade for the Subaru STi.
