If there was one thing tuning enthusiasts could improve for the Honda CR-Z it would definitely be the power output. Ever since the sporty hatchback was released, we have seen styling and aerodynamic parts galore, but a lack of performance options have us scratching our head. With the exception of a few limited models developed by Mugen for advertising purposes, Honda could help out the tuners who have been faithful to the car brand.
We are glad to announce that Honda Performance Division (HPD) has put together a kit to appeal to all Honda CR-Z owners looking for that extra boost. The sports car has received a new supercharger along with a sport exhaust system to increase the 1.5-liter engine output from 122 HP and 128 lb-ft of torque to 185 horsepower with 169 lb-ft of torque.
To go along with the significant power gains, HPD needed to improve the handling and stopping power with some aftermarket parts. They hooked it up with a sport suspension, lighter alloy rims wrapped in high performance tires and a larger brake kit. The HPD tuned Honda CR-Z now has all the right accessories to take it from a boring hybrid to a sporty hybrid hatchback.
