German-based tuning group Vath has released a new performance program for the Mercedes E500 sedan. They are calling this the V50S package which improves both performance and styling. Under the hood, engine modifications consist of new ECU software, air cooling system, sport exhaust system and removal of the electronic speed limiter. With these tweaks, the Mercedes-Benz E500 figures increased from 402 HP to 511 horses and from 600 Nm of torque to 810 newton meters of torque. This improved the track times drastically.
The Mercedes E500 now runs a 0 to 100 km/h time of just 4.5 seconds while topping out at 300 km/h or 186 mph. To handle all this extra power a high performance brake kit and electronic lowering module were necessary for the suspension and stopping power. Larger tires were also fitted on the new forged alloy rims, and measure 245/30/20 up front with 285/25/20 rubber at the rear-end.
Styling improvements have always been one of Vath’s sweet spots, so the Mercedes E500 received several goodies. You will notice a new front lip spoiler, boot lid spoiler, rear diffuser and blacked out grille. All the aftermarket exterior parts are made from carbon fiber for superior strength.
Inside the E-Class, Vath hooks it up with a new leather sport steering wheel (also available in carbon or wood trim) and a new speedometer that reaches 360 km/h or 223 mph. Now you ask, the total cost of the Vath Mercedes E500 V50S performance packages comes in at €32,250 or $40,400, and that excludes VAT.
Vath has not only conferred power, but also an all new aggressive look to the car. Thumbs up for this one!
