Singer Design Old Classic Porsche 911 With Modern Technology
Check out this 2011 Singer Porsche 911 custom built by the guys at Singer Vehicle Design. They have decided to re-create, and restore the old classic Porsche 911 models, from the pre-1994 series. Some nice pictures here show us what this late 70’s or early 80’s model Porsche 911 can look like with a little attention to detail. However, this restoration of the 911 can’t be considered authentic, because the tuners use custom made parts from carbon fiber and other powertrains to keep them up to par with today’s standards.
Sportec SPR1 FL Porsche 911
The Sportec tuning firm released the SPR1 FL based on the current 997 Porsche 911 Turbo with a facelift. Performance numbers stayed relatively the same, however are still an impressive 858 PS and 880 Nm of torque. Other tuning performed is the addition of a carbon ram air intake, two hybrid turbos, and a performance intercooler.
RUF Porsche 911 RT 12 R
It’s been a while since RUF unveiled a new tuning kit, but they have now come to the lime light at the Geneva Motor Show with the RT 12 R based on the Porsche 911. The 3.8-liter twin-turbo Boxer engine received a nice power upgrade to 730 PS and 940 Nm of torque. A stunning gold and yellow paint job with black contrasting parts were used. The engine puts down the power through the six-speed manual transmission to the all-wheel-drive system. An optional rear-wheel-drive setting is available, but who would want to use that? The top speed for the RUF RT12 R is 370 km/h (230 mph), while the sports car weighs in at only 1495 kg (3295 lbs). Several carbon fiber parts make up the exterior styling, and we have the complete list after the jump.
Vorsteiner VRT Porsche 911
The Porsche 911 Turbo is an amazing car, and from the factory comes with a 3.8-liter twin-turbo flat-six engine producing 500 PS and 651 Nm of torque. This power was plenty enough for the tuners at Vorsteiner, however they are well known to push cars to the limit in terms of exterior styling. For this project, the tuning company installed their own body kit to improve the aerodynamics, and gave this Porsche 911 its full potential. It consists of a custom front fascia featuring new air intakes, side skirts, new rear bumper, and diffuser underneath. A larger spoiler was swapped out with the stock piece, saving weight with the new carbon fiber design and providing extra downforce for all that power.
