MR Car Design Mercedes SL 65 AMG

Updated on

The German tuning company MR Car Design has released this Mercedes SL 65 AMG called the Shining Star. Based out of Erftstadt, the tuners customized the exterior of this 2005 Mercedes with a new SLR inspired carbon bonnet from Kicherer. A new rear bumper, black fender lights, and mid-mounted rear brake were also installed for a personalized look. It now rides on shiny chrome 20-inch forged rims from Carlsson, and MR Car Design performed some tuning under the hood next. With new software tweaking the ECU, the Mercedes SL 65 AMG gained 80 PS and 110 Nm of torque to the factory output of 612 PS and 1,001 Nm of torque. This lightweight Mercedes can now be classified as a tuners dream with those figures.

Since the Mercedes SL 65 AMG holds a 6.0-liter V12 twin-turbo engine, power has never been a problem, but extra horsepower rarely hurts. MR Car Design also removed the V-max speed limiter on the car to allow the full potential of this beast to be unleashed. Additional tuning performed was the installation of a suspension kit to drop the car 30 mm, and a sport exhaust system was hooked up. Inside, one of the only noticeable mods are the custom made Black Series dial lenses.
