After the initial spy shots of the Mercedes SLS AMG were leaked, more pictures of the highly anticipated and redesigned Mercedes Gullwing have surfaced. It was revealed at the Frankfurt Motor Show with its front/mid-mounted 6.3-liter V8, and inspired by the Mercedes 300SL “Gullwing”. Mercedes offers a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox with final performance numbers boasting 563 hp and 480 ft lbs of torque to the rear wheels. The Mercedes-Benz car weighs just around 3,500 pounds, allowing the SLS AMG to run a 0-60 mph time in only 3.7 seconds. Top speed numbers from Mercedes shows 197 mph with the addition of optional carbon ceramic brake discs to bring the sports car to a halt.
The Mercedes SLS AMG will be available in a several colors, including Alubeam Silver, Syvanite Grey, Alanite Grey, and Red. Production is said to begin in late 2010, with sales starting in 2011. Pricing for the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG once released is estimated to be around €177,310 in Germany.
