The German tuners at Carlsson have surprised the aftermarket industry with their French model Citroen C5, set to premiere at the International Auto Show in Leipzig. Typically customizing Mercedes-Benz models, the tuning company has chosen to upgrade the wagon and family saloon Citroen C5. It is said that a new exterior and interior styling package will be exclusively designed. The Carlsson Citroen C5 will be developed in collaboration with the French car manufacturer to have the both the sedan and wagon body styles perfected.

Under the hood, the Citroen C5 packs a turbocharged 1.6-liter engine producing 155 hp, while the diesel version holds a 2.0-liter Hdi with performance numbers showing 163 hp. Slotting above these factory units is a 3.0-liter V6 Hdi Biturbo powerplant pushing 240 horsepower. Customers then have the option of a manual or automatic transmission, and the styling improvements come next.

Carlsson tuning to the Citroen C5 includes a new sporty front spoiler, LED daytime running lights, side skirts, and rear lip. The C5 rides on 19-inch rims wrapped in high performance tires, and comes with dual exhaust pipes installed for performance and sound. Inside you will find an Alcantara covered steering wheel, along with new leather upholstery, aluminum finished pedals, scuff plates, and a high-tech navigation system called Business Package NaviDrive 3D.
