ABT Sportsline has released a new tuning package for the diesel version of the all new Volkswagen Beetle. The German tuners have tweaked the 2.0-liter TDI four cylinder powerplant to now produce 168 horsepower and 370 Nm of torque. A plentiful increase from the factory 138 HP and 320 Nm of torque. Results show a new 0 to 100 km/h acceleration time of 8.8 seconds, stock time was 9.4 seconds.

ABT VW Beetle
It is now time to prepare for the VW Beetle tuning wars as ABT Sportsline has just released some images of their initial renderings. Last month we saw some styling improvements from the Volkswagen enthusiast website VWVortex, and now we have the “Speedle” version from ABT. They will have several performance kits available for the VW Beetle, produing 140 HP for the 1.2 TSI engine, 210 HP for the 1.4 TSI, and 240 horsepower for the flagship 2.0 TSI powerplant. Diesel models will range from 125-170 HP, however the VW tuners are still manufacturing the parts and won’t be in customer hands until September.
New Volkswagen Beetle RS Tuning
The new 2012 Volkswagen Beetle is sure to be on many tuning companies list when it debuts on the showroom floors in September. It sort of reminds me of the Porsche Panamera when looking from the side, but it is said this design came inspired from the Porsche 911 GT3 RS, which was performed by VWvortex. Either way it is definitely a better look for the Beetle RS, since most of the owners of the previous model were female. It now carries that long lost swagger to attract the male tuning crowd and all the dedicated Volkswagen enthusiasts.
