RUF Releases the Third Stage for Porsche CTR 3

The tuners at RUF have revealed a third installment of the Porsche CTR 3 with several upgrades from the previous two models dating back to 2007. This new CTR 3 version features a longer wheelbase than the other two, allowing it to hold a new mid-engine with the new body made from galvanized steel. Found in the engine bay is a 3.8-liter twin-turbo boxer powerplant producing 50 PS more than the previous Porsche tuning. A newly designed gearbox for the CTR is transversely mounted, and sends all 750 PS and 960 Nm of torque to the wheels.

RUF Porsche 911 RT 12 R

It’s been a while since RUF unveiled a new tuning kit, but they have now come to the lime light at the Geneva Motor Show with the RT 12 R based on the Porsche 911. The 3.8-liter twin-turbo Boxer engine received a nice power upgrade to 730 PS and 940 Nm of torque. A stunning gold and yellow paint job with black contrasting parts were used. The engine puts down the power through the six-speed manual transmission to the all-wheel-drive system. An optional rear-wheel-drive setting is available, but who would want to use that? The top speed for the RUF RT12 R is 370 km/h (230 mph), while the sports car weighs in at only 1495 kg (3295 lbs). Several carbon fiber parts make up the exterior styling, and we have the complete list after the jump.

Geneva Motor Show: RUF Porsche 911 RGT-8

This lime green Porsche 911 RGT-8 was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show from the RUF car tuning specialists. Looking like a solid build, the most suprising thing about this project is that it doesn’t use a Porsche engine! Instead, the tuners modified an in-house 4.5-liter V8 powerplant to produce some impressive numbers. With this innovative design, and compact engine, the Porsche 911 power increase shows 550 hp at 8,500 rpm, and 500 Nm of torque at 5,400 rpm. RUF was able to shave off 200 kg with the customizations under the hood, and even gave the race car a dry-sump lubrication system which is effective under all driving conditions.
