ASMA Design is a car tuner from Germany that designs unique body kits for Mercedes and they recently unveiled their latest project based on a Mercedes SLR McLaren. They called their custom car “Perfectus” and it was originally developed for the Royal Family of Abu Dhabi but it will soon be available for any SLR owner. The car has a slightly different look with a new front grille and front bumper, new side sills, extended rear fenders, a new rear bumper with rear diffuser and a small boot lip spoiler. The ASMA Mercedes SLR McLaren Perfectus is equipped with a 5.5L supercharged engine which delivers 700HP and has a maximum torque of 855 Nm.
Volker Mornhinweg, the AMG boss, declared last week that the horsepower war is over and they won’t try to reach extreme performances with the cars they modify. Hartmut Feyhl, the boss from Renntech, still likes powerful cars which can reach incredible speeds and he announced that his company will reveal Renntech 777 Mercedes SLR McLaren, a car developed to celebrate the company’s 20th anniversary, which has 777 HP. The car tuner says this is a completely new street legal track car and it will have a new body kit with improved aerodynamics, a big rear wing, new splitters and new side skirts. The car will be powered with a modified 5.5L supercharged Kompressor V8 engine and it will feature a new suspension, driveline and a special slip differential made by Renntech.
Mercedes Benz will reveal the new SLR McLaren Roadster 722 S at the Auto Show from Paris. This convertible supercar has a 5.5L V8 AMG engine that can develop 650 HP and a maximum torque of 820 Nm. With this powerful engine the car can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.7 seconds and in 10.6 it could reach 200 km/h. SLR McLaren Roadster 722 S has a top speed of 335 km/h. The car has a modified suspension that brings it closer to the ground with 10 mm, 19″ rims and brakes painted with red. Mercedes Benz will make only 150 versions of this car and it will be available from January 1st, 2009. Read More →
When Mercedes decided that it’s time to boost the engine power for this lovely SLR supercar they created the limited edition SLR722. A lot of people thought that 722 comes from the power developed by the 5.5L V8 engine of this car while others thought that there will be built only 722 cars like this one. But they were all wrong. In fact the car’s name comes from the Mille Miglia from 1955 where Stirling Moss and Denis Jenkinson won with a Mercedes-Benz 300SLR in front of race favorties like Ferrari and Porsche. The car had the racing number 722 which was the exact hour of race start 7:22 am.
Last year, the car tuning company Renntech ended this confusion and boosted this car’s power from the initial 650 HP to 722 HP. The PKG1 kit included new intercoolers and modified engine cooling unit that will add this slight boost of power. Read More →
