Check out this car, a Dodge Viper with a Saab 9-3 stationwagon body on top, proving that anything is possible when you use your imagination and have the right tools for the job. A team of Swedish tuners took on this Viper project after they originally bought it for a rebuild, then spare parts were difficult to come by, so the plans changed. Looks like it worked out well since they now have a Saab 9-3 powered by a SRT10 Viper engine. However, this custom build wasn’t easy because the V10 8.4-liter powerplant was too big for the engine bay, and it had to be pushed inside the cabin some. After the jump you can see more pictures and a video of the bodiless Viper doing donuts.
Check out this new version of the Dodge Charger SRT8, with a fresh aggressive front end, and rear taillights similar to the Challenger. From the factory, the Charger SRT8 holds an updated 6.4-liter HEMI V8 producing more horsepower and torque than the previous 6.1-liter V8 HEMI. The estimated horsepower and torque ratings are 465 hp and 569 Nm of torque, however the specific figures will be announced upon the official introduction. New paddle-shifting technology joins the standard AutoStick, while the new Dodge Charger comes with a W5A580 five-speed automatic transmission. Hit the jump to see more pictures of this mean looking machine!
With the Super Bowl less than 24 hours away, here is a recap of the best Super Bowl car commercials last year. Many people who watch the super bowl only watch it for the commercials. Others are simply watching because everyone else is, and they’re at a super bowl party. However, a true sports fans know it’s more than just a 3-hour episode of commercials, and this year’s match up between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Green Bay Packers should be a classic. There were several major car manufacturer’s and companies from last year’s Buper Bowl commercials, including Audi, Dodge, Hyundai, Kia, Volkswagen, Bridgestone, and Cars.com. Hit the jump to see which was your favorite, and stay tuned for this year’s lineup, but more importantly, the game.
CULT Energy Drink is about to reveal this exceptionally tuned Dodge Challenger SRT8 at the upcoming SEMA Show next week in Las Vegas. Not a big fan of Dodge’s but this is one Challenger I’d drive. Do you see that blower coming out the hood! This black matted monster boasts an amazing masculine widebody kit to go along with the 8.3-liter V8 HEMI. Additionally, this mean looking muscle car spotlights the highly aggressive red front lights, CULT stickers, larger wheels and brakes, and of course the supercharger that almost reaches the sky. Full details about this Dodge Challenger will be available once the SEMA Show starts on November 2nd.
Up for sale at the Volo Auto Museum in Illinois is this matte gray 1970 Dodge Charger RT movie car, which claims to have been driven by Vin Diesel as Dominic Toretto in the 2009 Fast and Furious movie. Not only being a movie car, the custom Charger features a stripped and modified interior with a new sport steering wheel, plenty of gauges, and an automatic V8 with a large supercharger and intake coming out the hood. They say the appraised value is $200,000, however I have a hard time believing that due to the fact that Hemmings values a 1970 Dodge Charger RT around $28,995 to $74,900. But I guess spending the extra 100k for an all time classic movie car could be worth it. Fortunately they have “marked” the price down to $129,998 for anyone interested. This Dodge Dakota Convertible truck was sold on eBay recently, and one lucky car tuning enthusiast was fortunate enough to grab this unique automobile. This is 1 of 909 built in 1990, and there were only around 3,000 ever manufactured between 89-90. Yes, the top is completely factory, and this truck is reasonably priced for how rare it is. Many of these convertible trucks were destroyed in the Cash for Clunkers, a program that lets owners trade in their old cars and trucks for a discount when buying a new car or truck from a dealership. Looks like the owner put a little work into tuning the Dakota convertible as well. Listed in the auction are several modifications including Eagle alloy rims, lowering links, alarm system, and a deep sounding performance exhaust.
The tuning experts at SpeedFactory perfected their version of the new Dodge Challenger SRT8 with an output of over 600 HP, not including a supercharger. With a normal Challenger puting out around 425 Hp, SpeedFactory’s tuning package boosts power by nearly 175hp. To accomplish all this, they took the cars standard 6.1-liter Hemi, bored it to 7.0-liters, and then added a stainless steel exhaust from Corsa and custom Comp. Hydraulic cam with an 85mm throttle body and CNC stock manifold were installed next.
Irmscher has launched a special edition of the Dodge Journey Crossover in Germany to give the family car a complete makeover. The Journey SR is the product, and it receives a sporty look for the so called SUV, but it really still holds minivan features. It’s a family van that has been taken under the wing of the German tuning firm Irmscher, along with the cooperation of Dodge. The modifications are all cosmetic, so there are no performance gains for the stock 2.0-liter turbo diesel engine producing 140 horsepower. Included in the styling kit is a new front apron, roof spoiler, chrome tail pipes, and tinted rear windows.
Rarely do you get to see a street legal car run a single digit quarter mile time, but here is currently the world’s fastest Dodge Challenger. Built by the guys at MR NORMS GARAGE, the world famous tuners pushed the limits with this Challenger project. It was put together on the 2009 SRT8 Dodge Challenger platform, and this race car features too many upgrades to even list, but I’ll give you the run down of the basic improvements. From the factory the Challenger holds the 6.1-liter HEMI V8 engine, which received a ton of modifications to reach the numbers it now produces.
Dodge has unveiled the Furious Fuchsia special edition 2010 Dodge Challenger R/T Classic and Challenger SRT8 for their 40th Anniversary of the legendary model. Not too sure how ‘furious’ pink is, but the all new Dodge Challenger packs a powerful HEMI V8 with an unmistakable design and world-class handling. Dodge avoided tuning the engine and stuck with the most significant highlight of the car, the exterior shade of Furious Fuchsia Pearl Coat with Pearl White leather seats. The limited edition Challenger rides on large 20-inch polished aluminum rims wrapped in all-season high performance tires to complete the wheel package.
Here we have the 1:33 ACR limited edition Dodge Viper that has been on display at the 2010 Detroit Auto Show. What exactly does the 1:33 stand for? Well back in November, Chris Winkler was able to race the Viper ACR around the Laguna Seca track in just 1:33.944. It’s the fastest time ever accomplished by a production car, and only 33 of Dodge Vipers have been built since. Now what really makes this car unique is the 600 horsepower under the hood, and able to run from 0-202 mph 14 seconds faster than the 2009 model. Thus proving the Dodge Viper SRT10 V10 engine is not something to mess around with.
