Check out this cool blue Nissan GT-R that will be seen in the upcoming Fast and Furious 6 set to hit theaters May 24. We’re surprised that they are even making a sixth installment of the Fast and Furious series as it seems each sequel doesn’t live up to hype. The original should go down in history as the movie that changed the car tuning industry for the better or worse as some may say. Anyways, this GT-R received a ton of modifications from the new aerodynamic kit to the performance upgrades under the hood.
Nissan Motorsports aka Nismo has released the official Nissan GT-R Nismo GT3 that meets all FIA GT3 regulations and will be eligible to race. A quick update here from Switzer tuning, the Nissan GT-R R1KX “Red Katana” has just ran its best quarter mile in 8.97 seconds at 163 miles per hour. They tested the car at Norwalk, Ohio’s Summit Motorsports Park and this is an unbelievable record for a car that can still be a daily driver. Switzer has proved that the godzilla Nissan GTR is one of the most impressive vehicles of the 21st century.
Vivid Racing put together a tuning program for the godzilla Nissan GT-R that improves performance and styling. With the addition of a Cobb Accessport ECU tune, the twin turbocharged V6 engine now produces 605 HP. These 60 ponies are a nice addition to the factory 545 horsepower. However, that large of a boost wasn’t just from the Cobb Accessport unit, a new Agency Power exhaust lightens the undercarriage and helps the car breathe easier.
A few new goodies have been released by Switzer Performance for their Nissan GTR line of tuning kits. This one is specifically called the P600 PKG, and offers a minor boost from the factory 545 HP to now 600 horsepower. The increase comes from new high flow air filters, a SS90 high performance exhaust and ECU software tuning. Even though this power increase is modest, the Nissan GTR still benefits from the kit with a 0 to 62 mph acceleration time of only 2.6 seconds.
