Specter Werkes Corvette GTR

It’s been almost a year since Specter Werkes released their C6 Corvette GTR, now the Michigan-based car tuning specialists has delivered a new Corvette GTR. Starting off with the factory Chevy model, Specter Werkes used their imagination and taste to create a unique Chevrolet Corvette GTR supercar, with custom bodywork and performance tuning. The LS3 engine was increased in displacement from 6.2 liters to 6.8 liters, and with a new cam shaft design, performance numbers were increased to 615 hp and 578 ft lbs of torque. There are several levels of engine tuning that Specter Werkes can perform, and this model received the most basic tune. Underneath the Corvette GTR is fitted with a Corsa performance exhaust system, while receiving a complete wide body makeover for the exterior.

Artisan Chevrolet Camaro SS

The new 2010 Chevrolet Camaro SS has already been tuned by the specialists at Artisan Performance, along with help from Turbochargers.com. It received several performance upgrades including  dual rear-mounted GTK350 turbochargers, a full cat-back exhaust, intercooler, and ECU tuning. The result is 600 hp from the powerful Camaro SS 6.2-liter V8 and the complete turnkey package will be available next month (June ’09) for $69,000. They didn’t only focus on increasing the performance numbers, they also tweaked the fenders by flaring the front 1.5 inches and 3 inches in the rear to give it a wider look. iForged wheels measuring 21″ in the front and 22″ in the rear were fitted, and underneath a large 14″ SSBC brake kit is included.

Katech Corvette Z06 ClubSport

Katech Performance is a car tuning company based in Detroit. They recently prepared a special tuning kit for Chevrolet Corvette Z06 turning this car into a great racing car on the circuit. The new package is called ClubSport and gives a decent power boost to this american supercar, more handling and makes it even safer. The engineers from Katech modified this Z06 with aftermarket parts and managed to reduce it’s weight to 1.281 kg. The improvements include a high performance braking system from Brembo, 19″ rims with 15 spikes that are equipped with Michelin Pilot Sport tires, new suspension from Moton, a new hood, front bumper and rear bumper made from carbon fiber and new exhausyt system. Chevrolet Lingenfelter Corvette Twin-Turbo

This Chevrolet Corvette Twin-Turbo is a fabulous car designed for the 25th anniversary of Lingenfelter Engineering. The car has incredible performances and it’s equipped with a powerful V8 Twin Turbo engine that could develop 725 HP and a maximum torque of 990 Nm. The car could reach incredible speeds and there were only 25 cars like this one built. The body kit was slightly improved and the car is now closer to the ground. With a new sport hood and fully painted in red this car might look like a beautiful Ferrari but it’s even better than that. The new headlights match the car’s color in a beautiful manner and those rims add a nice contrast to this fabulous car. [click to continue…]

Corvette C6 ZX-1 by Karvajal Designs

Corvette is probably one of the best cars americans made and when it’s modified by several tuning companies you always get a great sports car that will amaze everyone. The guys from Karvajal Designs created an interesting 3d project to modify this Corvette that looks pretty good. There aren’t too many tuning companies that try to create a 3d project first and after that they’ll start modifying the car. In this case, the modified car is slightly different than the 3d project. The project was more agressive, sportier and it had some nice colors but it’s probably harder to create a car in the real world than in virtual reality. [click to continue…]
