Hennessey Cadillac CTS-V VR1200 Tests Texas Highway Cameras

John Hennessey recently met with Texas Lt. Governor David Dewhurst to test out the new cameras on the 85 mph section of Texas State Highway 130. Hennessey Performance brought out their Cadillac CTS-V with their very own VR1200 twin turbo kit producing 1,226 horsepower and 1,10 lb-ft of torque. Check out the video of this beast below, topping out at 220.5 miles per hour.

2013 BMW M5 vs 2012 Cadillac CTS-V

Here is an interesting video from Road & Track where they tested the all new 2013 BMW M5 against its American rival the Cadillac CTS-V. Last year, the Caddy took the victory by a slim margin, so watch the video after the jump to see who takes the honor this year. From the factory, the Cadillac CTS-V holds a 6.2-liter supercharged V8 producing 556 horsepower. The new competition, 2013 BMW M5 now carries a 4.4-liter twin turbocharged V8 outputting a similar 553 HP. Now the pricing difference, $64,515 for the Cadillac or $89,900 for the BMW.

2011 LA Auto Show: Cadillac ELR

Thursday, November 24th, 2011:

The 2011 Los Angeles Auto Show brought us a first hand look with several pictures and a video of the Cadillac ELR luxury hybrid car. It is set for production in 2014 and will be based off the Chevy Volt platform. The modified version of the electric propulsion system found in the Cadillac ELR will be good for 40 MPG of gas and electric driving that is emission free. If the battery gets low, the car will switch to an extended range mode allowing it to pursue hundred of miles. Hopefully, this Cadillac ELR with have better overall performance than the Chevrolet Volt since we know the interior is going to be extensively redesigned for a luxury feel.

2011 LA Auto Show: Cadillac Ciel Concept

We received our first live look at the all new Cadillac Ciel concept at the 2011 LA Auto Show. A few months ago we posted an article with full details about the intial debut of the fancy Cadillac Ciel concept, however seeing it in person is a different story. Named after the French word “sky” this car is smooth as butter from the suicide doors to the missing B-pillar that is similar to the 1961 Lincoln Continental convertible.

Cadillac seems to be getting serious about designing cars to appeal to the younger generation with all these tuned Cadillac CTS-V cars showing up on the market. Tuning companies worldwide are digging in the potential these cars hold, and to their surprise, putting out some nice packages with significant power upgrades. At the SEMA Show this week in the Toyo Tires booth, The D3 Group has this Cadillac CTS-V Coupe on display. It holds a highly modified 6.2-liter LSA V8 that has been bored out to 7.0-liters, and they say it produces around 1,001 horsepower and 1,000 lb-ft of torque.

Cadillac Ciel is a Fancy Concept

With the confirmation of the three new Cadillac’s entering the production line, they have decided to impress the masses with this Cadillac Ciel concept car. Hard to say if this will go into production in the next couple years, mainly because Cadillac has released concepts like this in the past with no follow up. They do however have the new large XTS luxury saloon, the ATS compact to rival the BMW 3-Series, and the all new ELR Coupe plug-in hybrid EV for the green crowd.

Hennessey Cadillac CTS-V Black Diamond

The tuners at Hennessey Performance have released this heavily modified Cadillac CTS-V called the Black Diamond Sport Wagon. It actually carries a manual transmission for an extra sporty feel, and the Black Diamond Edition is a special option available from Cadillac dealers. What makes this SUV so unique is paintjob featuring SpectraFlair Bright Silver pigment. The paint looks almost 3D with the aluminum flakes used to give it that sparkle in the sunlight. Tuning for the Cadillac CTS-V consists of Brembo brake calipers, new satin black rims, and Recaro front seats. Power upgrades on the Caddy include the V700 package along with optional exhaust pipes to bypass the factory muffler.

Hennessey Cadillac Escalade Races Nissan GTR

Here’s something you don’t see everyday, a Hennessey tuned Cadillac Escalade SUV racing the notorious Godzilla Nissan GTR. This new package from Hennessey Performance Engineering is called the HPE1000, and you probably already figured, produces 1,008 horsepower and 967 lb-ft of torque. The tuning company has twin-turbocharged the 7.0-liter V8 engine to allow the huge luxury truck to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.3 seconds. The factory Nissan GTR can only reach 60 miles per hour in 3.4 seconds. This Cadillac Escalade can also run the quarter mile in 11.3 seconds at 124 mph. Lingenfelter Cadillac CTS-V

The one tuning company that knows GM cars and products is Lingenfelter, who have taken the Cadillac CTS-V to the next level. Based in Indiana, the tuners announced the latest package available for the whole series, including the sedan, station wagon, and coupe models. From the factory, the Caddy CTS-V comes with a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 producing 556 hp and 551 lb ft of torque. Lingenfelter comes to tune with a variety of custom mods such as ported LSA cylinder heads and a LPE GT9 ZR1 supercharger camshaft. After the dyno-tune you can see the output is more than 700 horsepower at the crank. Then, the experienced GM tuners tested a manual transmission CTS-V, and were able to accomplish 623 hp and 617 lb ft of torque to the rear wheels. Check out the video.

The car wrapping specialists from Cam Shaft have released their latest work on the Cadillac CTS-V. On the exterior level, the car was foiled with a matte white wrap, and the tuners can even do the visible parts inside the doors if customers choose. To contrast the new white look, all chrome-plated parts were painted in matte black, while the wheels received the same treatment. Regarding performance, Cam Shaft turned to Wait4Me for a new compressor kit to boost the CTS-V numbers. A larger polished air intake was installed, and the tuning firm optimized the ECU software to increase the boost by 0.4 bar to give the 6.2-liter engine a total output of 630 horsepower. These are shocking numbers to any Cadillac fan, because typically these cars are seen as a luxury brand name over a true performance car.

One of the finest cars built by General Motors, the Cadillac CTS-V has been improved by the tuning firm Hennessey Performance. There’s always room for improvement when you get to work with a factory supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine. Hennessey Performance has developed the V700 upgrade package to squeeze an extra 150 horses out of the Cadillac CTS-V LSA V8, giving it more than 700 horsepower. It was accomplished with the addition of a cold air induction system, smaller supercharger pulley, new engine management system, longer headers, 3-inch exhaust system, high-flow cats, upgraded intercooler, and more aggressive camshafts.
