John Hennessey recently met with Texas Lt. Governor David Dewhurst to test out the new cameras on the 85 mph section of Texas State Highway 130. Hennessey Performance brought out their Cadillac CTS-V with their very own VR1200 twin turbo kit producing 1,226 horsepower and 1,10 lb-ft of torque. Here is an interesting video from Road & Track where they tested the all new 2013 BMW M5 against its American rival the Cadillac CTS-V. Last year, the Caddy took the victory by a slim margin, so watch the video after the jump to see who takes the honor this year. From the factory, the Cadillac CTS-V holds a 6.2-liter supercharged V8 producing 556 horsepower. The new competition, 2013 BMW M5 now carries a 4.4-liter twin turbocharged V8 outputting a similar 553 HP. Now the pricing difference, $64,515 for the Cadillac or $89,900 for the BMW.

Cadillac seems to be getting serious about designing cars to appeal to the younger generation with all these tuned Cadillac CTS-V cars showing up on the market. Tuning companies worldwide are digging in the potential these cars hold, and to their surprise, putting out some nice packages with significant power upgrades. At the SEMA Show this week in the Toyo Tires booth, The D3 Group has this Cadillac CTS-V Coupe on display. It holds a highly modified 6.2-liter LSA V8 that has been bored out to 7.0-liters, and they say it produces around 1,001 horsepower and 1,000 lb-ft of torque.

These aftermarket parts are wrapped together with a new sport suspension kit to lower the car, Brembo carbon ceramic brakes for superior stopping power, and performance tuning under the hood to bring the real power out.

The tuners at Hennessey Performance have released this heavily modified Cadillac CTS-V called the Black Diamond Sport Wagon. It actually carries a manual transmission for an extra sporty feel, and the Black Diamond Edition is a special option available from Cadillac dealers. What makes this SUV so unique is paintjob featuring SpectraFlair Bright Silver pigment. The paint looks almost 3D with the aluminum flakes used to give it that sparkle in the sunlight. Tuning for the Cadillac CTS-V consists of Brembo brake calipers, new satin black rims, and Recaro front seats. Power upgrades on the Caddy include the V700 package along with optional exhaust pipes to bypass the factory muffler.
