The new 2012 Volkswagen Beetle is sure to be on many tuning companies list when it debuts on the showroom floors in September. It sort of reminds me of the Porsche Panamera when looking from the side, but it is said this design came inspired from the Porsche 911 GT3 RS, which was performed by VWvortex. Either way it is definitely a better look for the Beetle RS, since most of the owners of the previous model were female. It now carries that long lost swagger to attract the male tuning crowd and all the dedicated Volkswagen enthusiasts.

The latest Need For Speed video game called Hot Pursuit is close to being released by EA Games, so the makers put together a video for the fans. It shows a Lamborghini Murcielago as a police car driven by Roll Deep, and a Porsche 911 GT3 handled by Ben Collins, formerly known as The Stig. After playing the older Need For Speed on both the Xbox and PS3 with some friends I can say it’s a pretty addicting and entertaining car game, however the new Call of Duty Black Ops that came out this week will have me passing this one up. Need For Speed Hot Pursuit is scheduled to be released on the 19th of the November. Hit the jump to see the video.
Next year we should see the birth of the Gillet Vertigo .5 Spirit, a supercar with amazing styling and Belgian roots. The looks will not be changed much, and the best mod can be found under the hood. The current Alfa Romeo V6 engine will be swapped out with a 4.2-liter V8 from Maserati. Resulting in 420 bhp through the six-speed sequential gearbox to the rear wheels. Now that may not sound like a lot of power, but when you match it up to the Gillet Vertigo that only weighs 990 kg with its carbon fiber design, you have a power to weight ratio matching some of the best exotics out there. However, this is still the factory Maserati engine, and extra tuning can be performed if needed.

It’s that time of the year again, we have news of the Miss Tuning 2011 calendar, this year featuring 2010 winner Kristin Zippel. She is a 27-year old model from Mering in the German state of Bavaria. Last May, Zippel won the Miss Tuning context at the World Bodensee Tuning show in Friedrichshafen, Germany. This years calendar set includes photography by Max Steam and the photo shoot took place in the Great Lakes region of North America over the summer. It consists largely of various iconic American cars, and you should grab your copy quick at www.tuningworldbodensee.de. It will be for collectors since only 1,500 copies will be made, and priced at €25.
