Rarely do you come across something so custom built, that makes you wonder how it was even accomplished. Take this Chevy truck for example that is now powered by a Ford diesel engine with a new turbo setup. These rat rods never get old and when you shoot soot out of the exhausts, it just makes it that much sweeter. Soot life, as many die hard truckers call it, has been gaining popularity over the past few years with jacked up trucks and diesel engines. You have to see for yourself in the video below.
Please meet Alex Kelsey, a 21-year-old kid from New Zealand who built his own rally car in just under two years. Even though he is dyslexic and suffered in school, you can see the great attention to detail with this build from the ground up. He wanted a car that looked good, sounded good and was cheap and easy to maintain. That lead him to the affordable Peugeot 207 body and chassis, powered by a V6 powerplant from a Formula Renault race car.
Here we have a video of an insane Porsche 911 that spun out at nearly 290 km/h or 180 mph. The driver didn’t even seem shaken in the interview later on. Somehow he managed to steer the sports car away from the grass to prevent flipping and completely ruining the body. All that was damaged were the wheels and corner of the front bumper. Not bad for a car that’s boosting 28psi and puts down nearly 1,300 horsepower on the dyno.
With the SEMA Show coming towards the end of the year, everyone can be a little overwhelmed with all the tuned cars in one massive area. SEMA boasts over 2 millions square feet of customized rides every year and we’re lucky enough to get a chance to cover all of these tastefully modded vehicles. With that much space it’s easy to miss a few of the underground projects, but don’t worry we’ll have you covered throughout. Here is one sweet whip that was seen at last years event, the Subaru BRZ HRDPKKR by Proper Garage that is currently listed on eBay!
Check out this latest video from Hennessey Performance, showcasing their new 2014 VelociRaptor SUV based on the Ford F-150 SVT Raptor truck. If you want a truck that has it all, then look no further as the $149,500 price tag is not a joke. It features a 6.2-liter V8 powerplant that has been supercharged from the factory 411 bhp, to now produce a whopping 600 bhp. This allows the sporty truck as we may say, to sprint from 0 to 60 mph in just 5.9 seconds which is 1.6 seconds faster than the stock version.
Now this is why you do not race through traffic, even if you own a Subaru STi or other well designed sports car. This stupid kid thought weaving in and out of traffic at nearly 200 km/h would somehow be safe? At first you notice some near crash chances, but then once in the tunnel the light at the end makes it impossible to see. Of course there were about 50 cars backed up at the end, so he plows through 10 or more cars causing tons of damage and possibly hurting some people at those speeds. This is just a reminder that if you own a sports car, think about the others on the road first before trying to race through traffic. Instead, take your car to the track and really find out its true potential before destroying it for one minute of “fun” with your friends.
In the style stakes, the Audi R8 is a classic supercar with a hefty price tag, but when it comes down to performance it does what it says to the tin, and drives beautifully at top speeds on the race track. If you’re looking to buy new, the coupe model starts at £91,575 with the open-top Spyder model tipping the scales at well over £100,000. Certainly worth a visit to a car shop for price comparisons of used car models, reviews, security and insurance advice for such a prestigious investment, in some cases a high performance supercar can cost as much as a small property. With a seven speed dual transmission clutch, the R8 has smoother handling and great traction on the road coupled with a stylish interior. A two-seater model with the finest Nappa leather interior, no expense has been spared on the upholstery and in car features like built in satellite navigation, Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity.
Check out the video after the jump of the most powerful Mitsubishi EVO X that just set a new record with 908 AWHP. It destroyed the most recent EVO X by more than 90 horsepower to the wheels, so there is no denying this will hold the crown for quite some time. Most people wouldn’t even think it’s possible to get close to 1,000 HP to the wheels out of a 2.0-liter four cylinder. This owner proves anything is possible when you turn up the boost and risk blowing the engine. However, he can now say he owns the baddest Mitsubishi EVO X in the world!
The people of New York along with all the tourists that frequently roam the streets were in for a treat the other day. On a trip through Times Square people spotted some rare cars and even a Batmobile replica. This comes shortly after the Colorado shooting for the new Dark Knight film which we are very sorry for the event that occurred that evening. Meanwhile, spectators in New York were able to feast their eyes on a new Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 that was wrapped in chrome and is most likely the first of its kind.
