Toyota tuning information with articles and pictures about modified Toyota cars for Toyota tuning enthusiasts.
Aftermarket tuners are going above and beyond with whatever you want to call it, the Scion FR-S, Toyota 86 or Subaru BRZ. That is the only problem with this sports car, we’re not sure what manufacturer to classify it under as both Toyota and Subaru have worked on it together. Identical cars from two different companies are rare these days, however it does make the tuning industry stronger since they can all form as one. We’re going to make it simple and call this car the FRZ86 from now on, see what we did there?
At the Tokyo Auto Salon this year we saw a wide range of Toyota 86 or Scion FR-S models from the Japanese car manufacturer. To go along with these, a recently announced Toyota Mark X G Sport sedan was released that features a carbon fiber roof. Replacing the factory steel, the new carbon rooftop reduces the body weight and improves overall driving performance.
Japanese tuners Abflug have released the initial details about their Toyota 86 project they’re calling the Spiral 86. This comes in perfect timing for the Tokyo Auto Salon next month, and features a wide variety of styling and performance modifications to fit tuning enthusiasts needs. At the exterior of the Toyota 86 it starts off with a new aggressive body kit featuring custom bumpers, side skirts and a trunk mounted spoiler.
You didn’t read it wrong, this is the new ‘Gundam Style‘ kit for the upcoming 2013 Toyota Auris by Modellista. While it may be easily confused with the hit viral song ‘Gangnam Style’ by South Korean rapper PSY, this title actually relates to the Japanese animated television series with giant robots. Although this car is not a giant in itself, the large Japanese in-house tuning company Modellista has taken this car under their wing for some tasty modifications.
Here is a unique Toyota MR2 that has been transformed into a Lamborghini Murcielago replica. In the past we have seen this car try to replicate models such as the Ferrari 460 Modeno Spider and Ferrari F430 Spider, however a larger Lamborghini proved to be much more difficult. This was a project from Bulgaria and is based on a second generation 1992 Toyota MR-2.
The guys at Speedhunters teamed up the KW suspension experts to create this 86X drift car based on the Toyota GT-86. (Also know as the Subaru BRZ and Scion FR-S depending on where you live) It recently participated in the Gatebil drift competition in Norway and plans to tour Europe while being driven by Fredric Aasbø. To get this car competition ready, the guys had to completely swap out the factory engine with a larger 2JZ-GTE sourced from a Toyota Supra.
The tuners at Wald International have released a teaser of a new kit for the upcoming Toyota 86 that has taken the world by storm. In the US, this car will be known as the Scion FR-S or Subaru BRZ, while in Europe it will be called the Toyota GT 86. All in all, this looks to be the hot commodity for tuning enthusiasts and companies worldwide. Wald has released their JDM version for the Toyota 86 with a few teaser photos we have in the this article. You can see the 86 received a new front apron making it more aggressive, new side skirts, fender vents, and a few extras at the rear.
Wald International is at it again with the Toyota Prius Mk3 after releasing their first attempt for the hybrid with the “Exclusive Line” back in 2010. This new “Sports Line” program will hit the market very soon, so look out for the new aero parts from the notorious Black Bison tuners. For this kit, it starts off with a new front bumper, side skirts and rear apron with integrated diffuser and customized exhaust exits.
Car tuning company Royal Customs has released a new body kit for the Toyota Land Cruiser that will be 1 of 20 produced worldwide. Each Land Cruiser will come with an original Royal Customs certificate of authenticity and a badge placed inside the dashboard stating the number of production. From the pictures you can see it received a new front lip, hood scoop, fender covers, rear bumper with integrated diffuser and new exhaust tips for a sportier look. The tuners also hooked it up with 1-inch body spacers to allow extra wheel clearance for the Toyota Land Cruiser in case the owners want to install new wheels.
Check out this Ferrari F430 replica kit that has been built on a Toyota Celica. When planning to build a replica, the first car the comes to mind is the Pontiac Fiero to use as the donor car. Simply because it was a mid-engine sports car that has a similar wheel base as some of the exotics today. However, occasionally you will find tuners finding new ways to construct the car of their dreams, like this Toyota Celica Ferrari F430 kit.
Most Toyota Supra owners spend their time tricking out the 2JZ-GTE engine to hit the 1,000 horsepower milestone, however the British owner of this car decided to turn it into a replica of an Aston Martin DBS sports car. We guess he was a big fan of the James Bond movie, Quantum of Solace, since that car was constantly in the spotlight. With the low resolution pictures from the eBay UK auction it’s hard to tell how good the quality of the body is, yet it looks like it could fool the average bystander.
Ever since the Toyota GT-86, Scion FR-S and Subaru BRZ triplets have been announced to the car world, enthusiasts have complained about their lack of power. Gazoo Racing or GRNM (Gazoo Racing Masters of Nürburgring) have taken this into account since the three automotive manufacturer’s appear to not be doing anything about it. Gazoo has now released this Toyota GT86 called the Sports FR, and it carries both a supercharger and turbocharger. Say what?!
