The new and already popular Audi e-tron Spyder made a special appearance at the 2011 LA Auto Show. This unique sports car is hoping to be on the production line come 2014, and should feature a twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 diesel powerplant with two electric motors. Performance numbers are reported from Audi in the range of 385 horsepower with 739 lb-ft of torque. At the track, a 0 to 60 mph of time will be accomplished in just 4.2 seconds, while the top speed has been limited from the factory at 155 mph. However, what really sets this hybrid apart from the rest is the fuel efficiency.

Subaru had this tease on display at the 2011 LA Auto Show called the Subaru BRZ STI Concept. Although it is not in production, this is one of the first Subaru sports cars we have seen that is not all-wheel-drive nor turbocharged. While it still holds the famous Subaru four-cylinder boxer engine, this is one of the first live appearances of what the Subaru BRZ STI will look like.

We received our first live look at the all new Cadillac Ciel concept at the 2011 LA Auto Show. A few months ago we posted an article with full details about the intial debut of the fancy Cadillac Ciel concept, however seeing it in person is a different story. Named after the French word “sky” this car is smooth as butter from the suicide doors to the missing B-pillar that is similar to the 1961 Lincoln Continental convertible.

Part of our coverage of the LA Auto Show brought us a first hand look at the highly modified Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 due out in 2013. It sports a brand new grille, LED lighting, and aggressive chin splitter up front. Under the hood, the Mustang holds a 5.8-liter more efficient TVS 2300 supercharger that produces an incredible 650 horsepower and 600 lb-ft of torque. Ford focused on making it more efficient with their all-new fuel delivery module and injector combination.
