With the 2011 LA Auto Show wrapping up over the weekend, we brought you all the best coverage with the new releases. There was everything from the new Subaru BRZ STI concept to the hot off the press BMW i8. Ford kept their typical fashion with the Shelby GT500, while Cadillac has been busy with the ELR and Ciel projects. Don’t forget about all the car girls attending the show either, Los Angeles never disappoints in this category. We now look forward to next year in hope of these concepts and high powered hybrids coming to life. Hit the jump to see a preview of the best cars on display and be sure to check out the full articles for more information.
The one section of the 2011 LA Auto Show that did not receive the attention it deserved was the tuner and aftermarket parts section. Some of the nicest cars attending the show were hiding in this backroom with the works of Platinum Motorsport, RTW Motoring, and Al & Ed’s Autosound. Starting off with Platinum Motorsport, they had some very expensive rides as you can see in the video above. Just to name a few, we were able to capture video of the Rolls-Royce, Porsche 911, all new Lamborghini Aventador, Kim Kardashian’s Ferrari, a few Mercedes, and even a Bugatti Veyron. Hit the jump to see the sleek cars from RTW Motoring, and the ground shaking trunks from Al & Ed’s Autosound.
Check out the BMW i8 concept at the 2011 LA Auto Show. In person, the car is stunning and you can see the video after the jump. This full-hybrid concept was called the Vision EfficientDynamics hybrid concept car when first announced, but now carries a much simpler BMW i8 title. This comes from the new BMW i “Born Electric” line of cars which will also include the BMW i3. We are sure that these will see the production line in a few years, and hopefully more BMW i models will be announced before this occurs.
When attending one of the largest automotive shows of the year, the 2011 LA Auto Show, you know there will be plenty of car show girls to go around. Here at FancyTuning we collected a nice gallery of some of the best car babes on the scene. They were representing everything from Dodge to Cadillac, and even tuners like DUB and Al & Ed’s Autosound. Over time we have seen the car girl style transform from party girls to classy automotive representatives before our eyes. Hit the jump to see the car tuning babes and top booth models for yourself.
The 2011 Los Angeles Auto Show brought us a first hand look with several pictures and a video of the Cadillac ELR luxury hybrid car. It is set for production in 2014 and will be based off the Chevy Volt platform. The modified version of the electric propulsion system found in the Cadillac ELR will be good for 40 MPG of gas and electric driving that is emission free. If the battery gets low, the car will switch to an extended range mode allowing it to pursue hundred of miles. Hopefully, this Cadillac ELR with have better overall performance than the Chevrolet Volt since we know the interior is going to be extensively redesigned for a luxury feel.
