Swiss car tuner Rinspeed has modified a Fiat 500 Abarth to get more power and better gas mileage but it won’t do this at the same time. They started from a Fiat 500 that has a standard 135 HP and they developed a new engine management system that has one mode for the city and one for the highway. The “E2″ system will reduce the engine’s output from 160 HP to 60 HP with one touch of a button. The 60 HP mode is suitable for city traffic and will help the tiny Fiat achieve a 4.0L/100 km fuel usage while the 160 HP highway mode will use 7L/100 km. Rinspeed is one of the first tuners that makes something to reduce the car’s fuel consumption and in the Highway mode their car will get the same HP number as the Fiat 500 Abarth SS.
Fiat
Mmmrrrr… I told you I was a Lamborghini! That’s exactly how this Fiat 500 will be on streets. After the guys from Merkur, the german tuners from Rieger made a tuning package for Fiat 500. They revealed the car at the Essen Motor Show but official pictures with it were released only a couple of days ago. The well known italian car received a lot of modifications and the new body kit with extentions for the front spoiler, side skirts, rear diffuser and a new rear wing is one of the nicest body kits made for this tiny ride. With a lovely paint job and new 17″ alloy wheels this Fiat 500 has a unique personality and it will turn a lot of heads.
We haven’t seen any new tuning kit for the sweet Fiat 500 in these last months and now the German tuners from Merkur released a special upgrade program for this tiny car. The Merkur Fiat 500 comes with a new retro design and a lot of upgraded parts. It’s styling package includes new front and rear spoilers, a new set of 16″ or 17″ wheels and the body kit also includes extended wheel arches. The guys from Merkur installed a height adjustable suspension, new spacers and a new stainless exhaust system on the Fiat 500 and now the car has even better handling and gained a bit in power.
The Fiat 500 is one of the most popular tiny cars on the market and i’ve seen a lot of different companies that tried to modify cars like this one. O.CT hasn’t done too many modifications at the car’s interior and they tried to maintain the car’s classic look. They lowered the suspension and they’ve installed a new set of rims that are fully painted with black. The engine is the car’s part that suffered a lot of modifications. From the initial 75 HP, the small 1.3L Multijet engine could develeop about 90 HP after installing a new engine cooling unit. The maximum torque is now 180 Nm and for a small car like this one, you’ll surely see a difference at acceleration. This Fiat 500 could reach 100 km/h in just 12.9s. [click to continue…]
