Ferrari CEO Amedeo Felisa has confirmed that 2013 should be an exciting year for Ferrari when they launch a new lightweight 458 Italia Scuderia and redesigned California. Even sooner comes the news that fans of the Prancing Horse will witness replacements of both the 599 GTB and Ferrari Enzo.
The Enzo replacement, the Ferrari F70 will feature a mid-mounted V12 powerplant to go along with the carbon fiber construction. Ferrari is also moving in the direction of hybrid technology for their future sports cars. Amedeo Felisa said that Ferrari cars, “must focus on improving efficiency and not just be about performance.”
Ferrari plans to reveal the Enzo successor sometime in 2012, however the name of the car has yet to be confirmed. As for the Ferrari 599 GTB, it will keep the front engine position but use aluminum for the body structure instead of carbon fiber. It is said that the motor will be a Ferrari 6.3-liter V12 capable of producing 700 horsepower. This would make it more powerful than the 599 GTO, and with a strict rear wheel drive system, it will definitely be impressive on the track.
