July 2011

At first I thought the name was a joke, but this Lamborghini Gallardo kit is really called the Galaxy Warrior. Originally found on eBay, in all of its overkill greatness, the styling package featured on this car is from a tuning company called ATS Automotive. Aero parts included in the kit comprise of a new front bumper, Reventon style side skirts, rear wing, and a hideous rear bumper with too many vents to count. New alloy rims wrapped in high performance tires match the exterior lemon paintjob, while dual exhaust pipes complete the kit. The matte black version doesn’t look half bad, but when seeing the rear bumper on the yellow Lambo Gallardo, we will definitely pass on this one.

German car tuning company Edo Competition is well known for exotic car projects, however this time they stuck with a more practical budget customizing the BMW M5 Touring model. Calling it the BMW M5 Dark Edition, performance tuning for the 5.0-liter V10 engine consists of a reprogrammed ECU, new air filters, catalytic converters, and a high performance sport exhaust system. This results in a power increase from the factory 500 HP and 521 Nm of torque to 555 horsepower and 560 Nm of torque. On the race track it is capable of a 0 to 100 km/h acceleration in just 4.2 seconds while reaching a top speed of 305 km/h.

A quick preview here of the Expression Motorsport Mercedes E-Class Coupe called the EX E pacakge. This “DTM inspired” kit consists of a wide body transformation with the new front fascia, side skirts, wheel arches, and customized rear end. This gives it the look of a Mercedes C-Class used in the DTM racing series. Several other modifications to the Mercedes E-Class include the LED fog lights, spoiler on the trunk, carbon fiber rear diffuser, and a high performance sport exhaust system with four tailpipes. A wide variety of wheel choices complete the tuning kit and measure up to 20-inches in diameter.

Volvo S60 T6 Performance Project

July 5, 2011 | CATEGORIES: Volvo

The guys at Volvo decided to partner up with Heico and Polestar to create this Volvo S60 called the Performance Project. Exterior modifications include the new exhaust system and 19-inch Heico rims wrapped in Pirelli tires found on the T6 R-Design AWD car. Performance tuning was the main focus however, and the revised ECU plays a big part in boosting the turbocharged 3.0-liter powerplant. After the final tune, the Volvo S60 now produces 325 horsepower and 354 lb-ft of torque. Now this might sound impressive for and older Volvo enthusiast, but the car manufacturer has announced a 2012 Volvo S60 R-Design with an inline-six engine producing the exact same performance numbers. Stay tuned for more Volvo tuning news.
