Chevrolet has sent us these videos with some behind the scenes action starring Nascar driver Austin Dillon. They are promoting their new Cruze-Arati.com campaign for the all new Chevy Cruze compact car. In the states, Nascar is one of the most exciting motor sports, and having the chance to see what goes on in the shop is rare. We have three new videos from Chevrolet, featuring Amy Martin interviewing Austin Dillon from Richard Childress Racing. They show everything from fixing up the race cars, to hitting the gym, and even a demo of how quick a pit stop can occur.

A unique car concept was released by the German tuners Irmscher called the 7 Selectra, an electric concept roadster. This classic Lotus 7 type car features a 144V DC motor producing 175 kW and an insance 800 Nm of torque. It is said to be the largest ammount of torque available for an electric car currently. Lithium iron phosphate cells (LiFePo) provide the battery power. The advantage to this liquid cooled battery is minimal power loss at low temps, and the fact they can be charged wirelessly. Technology has allowed these batteries to be charged to 60 and 100 percent in 3 to 8 hours.
Although MINI and Rolls-Royce have the same owner, these two British brands were never meant to share the same styling or performance. A Texas based tuning company name BMP Design was able to fit a Rolls-Royce Allison 250-C20B jet engine from a helipcopter in a Mini Cooper S sports car! You can only imagine what 420 horsepower and 400 ft-lbs of torque feels like in a lightweight car like a MINI. Driving this custom powerful machine must be a challenge, since the driver will have to balance the standard controls, along with the separate levers controlling the fast jet engine. Check out the video after the jump of what a car with a rocket engine sounds like, and see fire shooting out the roof.
The guys at Mansory were one of the most active tuning companies releasing new projects at the Geneva Motor Show. Besides the Mercedes SLS and Ferrari 458 Siracusa, we now have the Porsche Cayenne Turbo SUV from Mansory. A wide-body kit was installed to make the truck more aggressive, and consists of many carbon fiber parts. A new bonnet, side skirts, and rear diffuser were fitted perfectly, along with new 22-inch black rims. Under the hood, performance tuning was a top priority and done right by Mansory.
