Hyundai Sonata teaser

Here’s an attempt to build some hype around the new 2011 Hyundai Sonata that comes with a 2.0-liter turbo engine stock from the factory. Hyundai teamed up with RIDES and 0-60 magazine in order to customize the 274 horsepower saloon for the upcoming SEMA car show. It takes place in Las Vegas this November, and the South Korean tuning firm had no problem admitting the cars tune-up was inspired by Porsche, Mercedes, and Ferrari models. Uwe Gemballa Dead in South Africa

uwe-gemballa

It’s a sad day for the car tuning world, Uwe Gemballa was found dead in South Africa earlier today, shot in the head execution style. No one really knows the whole story, but details are showing an offshore money-laundering scheme between Gemballa and fugitive Czech billionaire Radovan Krejcir. His body was dumped, hands behind his back in Atterdgeville, west of Pretoria. This news comes from jalopnik, and is just months after the high-profile murder of strip-club owner Lolly Jackson by underworld character “Louka”, alias George Smith. In the absence of Uwe Gemballa, Andreas Schwarz took over the Gemballa tuning company that was nearing bankruptcy, however I doubt they will ever put out a product like the Ferrari Enzo or the Porsche Mirage GT without Uwe Gemballa. RIP my man.
