At the 2010 Waterfest event this year, Volkswagen surprised tuning enthusiasts with the latest custom tuned VW Jetta. Already fitted with several parts from the Volkswagen Accessories catalog, the all new 2011 Jetta received a new front bumper, side skirts, rear bumper, rear spoiler lip, and a black wheel package. When looking at the exterior styling, you will see similar traits of Audi lineage in the design, but mostly in the rear design and taillights. As we speak, the media is now testing the 2011 VW Jetta, which I’m sure we’ll have some interesting reviews once Volkswagen launches their ad campaigns. This custom tuning also shows the fact that there are some die-hard fans of Volkswagen of America, capable of modifying any new car they can get their hands on.

The German tuners from Novitec Tridente have released a new styling and performance package for the Maserati Quattroporte S and Sport GT S. With the addition of their new compressor technology, they were able to boost the power output to 590 hp with a peak torque rating of 572 Nm. Additionally, the styling and driving dynamics were improved on the Maserati. First, Novitec adapted a cogged-belt-driven mechanical charger on the 4.7-liter engine, then limited the boost to 0.35 bar. Keeping it cool in the engine bay is a water-to-air intercooler setup with its own dedicated water circulation system. Now that’s some high tech stuff for a boosted sports car! The Novitec Maserati Quattroporte S was rounded out with a custom intake manifold and larger injectors to complete the performance tuning.
Caroll Shelby and Jack Roush, some of the best known tuning experts around came together to create a masterpiece neither one could do alone in the Ford Mustang SR-71. This car will be up for sale and auctioned for charity. This insane ride came to be after inspiration by the Lockheed Martin SR-71 Blackbird with “SR” standing for nothing less than Shelby and Roush. As far as performance modifications, the Roush & Shelby Mustang SR-71 comes with a 5.0L Ti-VCT V8 engine complemented by a 2.3L Whipple Twin Screw Supercharger and a Roush intake. These tuning experts also updated their SR-71 with a new exhaust from Ford Racing, a new handling pack, and reinforced roll cage. We are all waiting anxiously for the release of these Ford Mustang performance figures.
The German car tuning company Carlsson recently released their newest upgrade package for the Mercedes E-Class Cabrio ranging from sleek new exterior add-ons to performance and more. To begin the process, the team from Carlsson had to upgrade the exterior adding a new set of alloy wheels (available from 16-20-inches), a new front and rear spoiler. To achieve top of the line status, the most costly wheels in the package go for 2,712 Euros with the general package at a reasonable 1,698 Euros. The interior is like a world of its own. Wrapped in the most styling Alcantara upholstery and clean cut leather, this interior is something to remember.
The Honda CR-Z is not your typical sports car, but holding hybrid capabilities and the structure to be easily modified makes this the perfect tuning project for the world renowned HKS company. When it comes down to performance figures, the Honda CR-Z isn’t all that impressive, but HKS is now in the limelight for its top spec performance kits. They previously released the GT570 package for the Nissan GT-R, and now offer several tuner parts for the Honda hybrid. First, comes the Hypermax II suspension system, allowing the driver to adjust the ride height depending on the conditions to improve handling. This drops the car up to 37 mm, while HKS focused on the 1.5-liter petrol engine to produce more power.
