This isn’t the prettiest Mercedes GLK we’ve seen, but it does hold the title for being the fastest SUV in the world, custom tuned by Brabus. First off, Brabus swapped the factory engine with one of Mercedes V12 power plants to claim a whopping 211 mph top speed. The new V12 under the hood was increased from 5.5-liters to 6.3-liters, and then Brabus hooked it up with two turbochargers, two intercoolers, and a large stainless steel exhaust system with high flowing catalytic converters. Showing off typical Brabus performance numbers, the modified Mercedes GLK boasts 740 hp and 995 ft lbs of torque.
Brabus didn’t stop there however, they customized the looks to go along with the amazing results under the hood. The exterior was styled with all black aftermarket parts, including 22-inch rims wrapped in either Pirelli or Yokohama high performance tires to complete the wheel package. Beneath the wheels are huge 12-piston front calipers clamping onto 15-inch brake discs, and six-piston calipers in the rear with 14.2-inch rotors. For traveling at such high speeds, a fully adjustable coilover suspension kit was installed, and the track numbers show the benefits. The Mercedes GLK was able to accelerate from 0-60 mph in just 4.2 seconds, 0-124 mph in 12.8 seconds, and as stated before, accomplish a top speed of 211 mph. Now the cost for all these modifications, be ready to empty your pockets at $580,000 USD.
