Recently released by Kneibler Autotechnik is their version of the BMW E46 M3 Coupe with some increased performance and an interesting wheel package. Under the hood the car tuning company offers a supercharger using a compressor kit, and a charge air cooler with adequate software to optimize the setup. The supercharger performance upgrade for the BMW M3 E46 Coupe was installed by the famous tuning firm G-POWER, and the supercharger is from ASA TurboMex. These performance improvements are priced at 13,000 euro, and for an additional 1,350 euro, Kneibler Autotechnik will mount a sport exhaust made from high quality steel. After the complete tuning kit is installed, the BMW E46 M3 has final output figures of 459 hp and 498 Nm of torque.

Heffner Performance has increased the already powerful Lamborghini Murcielago by customizing the engine bay with a twin turbo setup. After all the car tuning was performed, the new Lamborghini Murcielago produces 1100 hp at the rear wheels when boosting 14.5 psi. It has great track results for the 60-130 mph time at a mere 5.1 seconds, but Heffner Performance did not mention the 0-60 mph time. We’re guesing it’s due to traction issues, considering it doesn’t have all-wheel-drive to keep the wheels on the pavement. They are not finished with the car yet, however, they believe some extra tuning and tweaking could produce hidden power. The guys from Heffner have completed some impressive work on a Ford GT in the past, and now this Lamborghini Murcielago Twin-Turbo has received some fine tuning.
The guys from Vivid Racing have completed their Porsche 997 Twin-Turbo with outstanding results from the two Garrett GT3076rs turbos. Their goal was to obtain 800 crank horsepower, and after factoring in a 25 percent drivetrain loss on the Mustang Dyno, final numbers show 642 awhp and 616 ft lbs of torque. Using Softronic ECU flash technology they were able to pull everything together, and used VP 109 fuel to get these final performance numbers. On the dyno, the Porsche 997TT was run at 1.4 bar of boost, but if you are running on pump fuel of 91 octane, it is recommended to only run 1.0 bar of boost. With 93 octane you can run 1.2 bar of boost, and this is easily controlled with the Greddy Profec B Boost Controller.
Adding their Performance Stage 3 package, the car tuning specialists at Novitec Rosso have modified the Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano. They increased the final output to 660 hp by integrating a new engine management system that remapped the ignition and injection system. Novitec Rosso also increased the maximum engine speed to 8,550 rpm, allowing the car to reach a top speed of 335 km/h. Pricing for this modification for the Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano starts at 10,490 euro, however extra aftermarket parts are available as well. Working on a new exhaust system with a controllable exhaust flap, Novitec Rosso is aiming to allow the customer to control the exhaust sound. They plan to place a ‘Manettino’ switch on the steering wheel which will allow the simple tuning of the exhaust note.
As more auto companies aim to develop the perfect hybrid car, BMW has announced their full-hybrid concept, the Vision EfficientDynamics Hybrid Concept Car. The 4-seater concept combines both performance and efficiency with some unique and interesting characteristics. It is powered by a three cylinder turbo diesel with two electric motors, and has final output numbers of 356 hp and 590 ft lbs of torque. Featuring all wheel drive, the BMW Vision EfficientDynamics has an electric motor on the front and rear axles. The performance numbers for the hybrid concept car are 0-100 km/h in 4.8 seconds, with a top speed of 250 km/h that is electronically limited. Fuel consumption is great at only 3.76 liters/100 km, and CO2 emissions are 99 grams/km. BMW didn’t forget their “Ultimate Driving Experience” motto, so the concept car is focused on establishing just that.
